Top sports competitions in Mường Lay wrapped up

ĐBP - After three days of vibrant and exciting activities, on the afternoon of January 5, the Organizing Pannel of the 10th Swallowtail Boat Racing Festival, the 5th National Paragliding Club Championship, and the 1st Jet Surfing Tournament of 2025 held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes to the swallowtail boat racing teams in Mường Lay Town, Điện Biên Province.

The Organizing Pannel presents the First Prize in the mixed-gender team category in the Swallowtail Boat Racing Festival to the team from Quỳnh Nhai District (Sơn La Province).

 

In his closing remarks, Mr. Hoàng Văn Quyền, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Mường Lay Town, emphasized that the 10th Swallowtail Boat Racing Festival, the 5th National Paragliding Club Championship, and the 1st Jet Surfing Tournament of 2025 were a great success.

He added that the events were organized in a formal, united, safe, economical, and effective manner. The results of each competition accurately reflected the abilities, skills, and determination of the athletes, leaving a positive and lasting impression on the audience.

The Organizing Pannel awarded 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 2 Third Prizes, and 13 Consolation Prizes to the teams participating in the Swallowtail Boat Racing Festival in the two categories of men’s and mixed gender. Notably, the First Prize in the men’s team category came to the team from Tủa Chùa District (Điện Biên Province), while the First Prize in the mixed-gender team category was given to the team from Quỳnh Nhai District (Sơn La Province).

As part of this year’s festival, the Organizing Pannel also awarded first, second, and third prizes to athletes who achieved outstanding results in other exciting traditional folk games, such as tug of war, “tung còn” (cloth ball throwing), “tù lu” (spinning top), stilt walking, stick pushing…
